Primetals Technologies is a UK-based engineering company, with its head office in London, that designs and builds plant for the iron and steel sector. Its scope runs from ironmaking, direct reduction and steelmaking in electric-arc and basic-oxygen furnaces to continuous and endless casting, rolling mills for hot and cold strip, and the automation, electrical and environmental systems that keep a works running.

ZHIMAI sources Primetals Technologies plant equipment for ironmaking, steelmaking, casting and rolling, along with spare parts, for metals producers worldwide. From our China base we work with manufacturers across China, Asia and beyond, managing procurement, shipping and customs end to end. Where a component is hard to find we trace its current replacement, subject to compliance screening.

Typical product lines we supply:

• Ironmaking and direct reduction: blast furnaces, MIDREX and HYFOR direct-reduction plants and smelting lines that convert iron ore into hot metal or DRI.
• Steelmaking converters and furnaces: basic oxygen converters (BOF) and electric arc furnaces (EAF) with secondary metallurgy for refining liquid steel.
• Continuous and endless casting: slab, bloom and billet continuous casters plus Arvedi ESP endless casting-and-rolling lines for semi-finished and strip products.
• Hot and cold rolling mills: hot strip, plate and Steckel mills, cold-rolling mills and annealing, pickling, galvanizing and coating lines for flat strip.
• Long rolling mills: wire, rod, bar, section and combination mills for long steel products.
• Automation and environmental systems: Level 1/2 process automation, drives and motors, plus off-gas cleaning, dedusting, water treatment and sinter/pellet agglomeration.
